Hello! You found yourself on my website, it would be rude of me to not introduce myself ;). Hi, my name is Lelah van Eijnsbergen (She/they), I’m a 20 y/o sonic interaction design student at the HKU in Utrecht, the Netherlands. I love writing/reading, TTRPGs, running and music!
My strongest skill is composing sound worlds that underline, enhance or create emotions within media such as games, installations and films. I always work in service of context resulting in a wide arrange of styles. My own twist often finds itself in my love for ambient music: non- or polymetric, minimalistic and non-linear. I often combine acoustic and electronic instruments/elements/artefacts to give a new twist to classical compositional forms.
In addition, the user/player/listener always plays an important role in my working process. How can I direct emotions in the player by incorporating familiar (or unfamiliar) elements into the composition? Emotions are of course more complex than simply happy or sad. How can the music bring out this more complex experience in the player?
By nature, I am curious and eager to learn. I like to figure things out creatively and technically in interactive audio. I am very broadly interested in everything related to music, sound, interaction design and games. My interest in (non-Western) culture is often reflected in my work process. I am always looking for ways to use technology in a creative way to come up with new outcomes. For example, how can you tell a unique story through nonlinear sound worlds? In what ways can you turn abstract, non-musical ideas into something musical? And how can music ensure that the player's experience is complex and unique?"
